CHINESE STUDENT ASSOCIATION
EST. 1947
Founded in 1947, the Chinese Student Association at the University of Texas at Austin is one of the oldest cultural student organizations on campus. We strive to promote Chinese culture at UT and in the Austin community. Each year, we host several campus-wide events to celebrate Chinese holidays, including Mid-Autumn Festival (fall semester) and Lantern Festival (spring semester). We also participate in UT intramural sports, Austin Dragon Boat Festival (spring semester), and many other fun activities. In addition to our cultural and social events, we also like to give back to the community by volunteering and raising funds for our charity, Hearts and Hands for China.
We welcome anyone and everyone who is interested in Chinese culture or just wants to meet new people and make new friends. Members are split into families at the beginning of the year, so that everyone has the chance to get to know other members a little better. We have bi-weekly meetings in which we update members on all things CSA, and families compete against each other in fun activities. Throughout the year, families earn points for being active, and at the end of the year, the winning family will receive a big prize! We hope to see you at one of our general meetings soon!
